PHOTO BLOG: PARTNERSHIPS FOR DEVELOPMENT: THE WORLD BANK FUNDED JEEViKA
Today’s photograph focuses on our key partner, the World Bank funded ‘JEEViKA’ program of the Government of Bihar, that is mainly aimed at the socioeconomic empowerment of rural households in Bihar. The ‘JEEViKA’ program has mobilised over 10 million rural women in Bihar and organised them into
“Self Help Groups’ (SHGs) which are micro community institutions that link previously unempowered women to livelihood opportunities and the financial system. Our partnership with JEEViKa helps students in remote, rural Bihar, gain access to our EdTech app and school video tutorials, when our ‘JEEViKA Didis (‘sisters’ in Hindi) spread awareness about our program and encourage students to be enrolled into it. Tuen the Bus is grateful for our partnership with the phenomenal women of JEEViKA.
