Vikram is an engineer and a software entrepreneur. He would love to see modern technology being used for huge societal impact. Smartphones and web technologies should be used for more than videos and social media — they can and should be used to transform lives.

Jyoti Vasudev

Jyoti functions at the intersection of finance and technology and wants to help bring like-minded people together to tackle the issue of undereducation in India.

Educating the vulnerable segment of population is the most promising way to secure a brighter future and through education, helping a child achieve their full potential, is the highest form of giving. She is grateful for Turn the Bus and the work that they do and hopes to help add momentum to the effort.

Nikhil Ojha

Board Member

Nikhil is a Bain & Co Partner in the firm’s India office. He is a leader for Bain’s Business Strategy capability and is a member of Consumer Products practice in India. He is passionate about Bihar and as a consultant understands the big picture of mobile enabled digital revolution currently underway in India.

Rahul

CTO

Rahul is a software technologist with extensive experience in architecting and building high scale cloud services and software applications. After a long and satisfying career that span 27 years working at Microsoft Corporation in various Engineering leadership roles, he is currently on an extended sabaticcal where he is pursuing his interests and passions outside work, along with doing a little bit to give back to the community. He is a strong believer in the power of a good education in transforming lives and improving livelihoods and is currently helping Turn the Bus with its long term technical strategy.

Dr. Tilak Agerwala

Head - Innovation and STEM

I’m a technologist-at-large, professor, and retired IBM Research VP interested in applying emerging technologies (including AI) to social good and education and raising awareness of the ethical issues that arise. I’m focused on our STEM pedagogy and Innovation at Turn the Bus and have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of underprivileged and marginalized young adults in a collegial environment that encourages “working happily.” 

Java Singh

Chief Learning Officer

Java Singh is currently a visiting lecturer in the Spanish Department at Doon University, Dehradun. She came to the academic life as a second career, after having founded and run an entrepreneurial venture in floriculture. Her company, Lake Flowers, was the first export-oriented floriculture project to be set up in Uttarakhand, where she grew and exported tulips, liliums, and other flowers for sale in Europe, Middle East, Japan, and elsewhere.  Java earned her PhD in Hispanic Literature from Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi and an MBA from IIM, Ahmedabad.

Kishor Kumar Ram

KKR is an IIM Ahmedabad alumnus with over 25 years of experience in working in rural India for strategic government-affiliated technology and infrastructure projects. He believes that a motivated student can go the distance with the help of high quality educational content. His mission is to extend the reach of Turn the Bus to the most disadvantaged populations in India.

Murali is a high energy leader with extensive transformational experience in global operations, technology, and supply-chain in support of oil and gas, solar, and consumer businesses. Serving underprivileged children and youth is a passion for Murali.

Gagandeep Singh

Gagan is consumed by the potential of aligning research and teaching interests, with action practices on the front of individual and organisation change. If he is not tripping on the wild swings between energetic idealism and stoic pragmatism, he displays a sense of wry humour and a willingness to listen and dialogue. Darrel is a Singaporean studying Business Economics at UCLA. He started volunteering when he was 16 and has since supported multiple nonprofits and social enterprises in fields such as education, food sustainability and eldercare. Darrel believes in lifting the underprivileged because no one should be made to go through what they experience, and the least anyone can do is to provide help where possible.

Sayan Bhatia

Sayan Bhatia is a sophomore at Redmond High School and is an advocate for utilizing technology to transform education for those who are unprivileged. His ambition for solving real-world problems with technology began with his interest in building iOS apps in early middle school. Over the years, he has gained experience in many areas of software development and is looking forward to expanding his skills as a developer on the Turn the Bus team. Since joining in the summer of 2019, he has continued his work on a chatbot app for underprivileged students. He is thrilled to be working along with this organization’s members to successfully provide students in the underdeveloped parts of India with more educational opportunities.

Sohil Bhatia is currently a freshman who attends Redmond High School. He not only has a passion for developing and learning technology but is constantly active in utilizing technology to help solve real-world problems. He works at CARE India, Bihar team and has been instrumental in shaping many projects across themes at Global Health Strategies, Oxfam India, CRY, Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS).  He has a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Anthropology from Hansraj College, University of Delhi and a Master in Philosophy Degree in Social Work. Apart from his professional interests, Sanjay is a nature enthusiast and loves travelling and meeting new champions.
